Message of Principal

Throughout my career in education, I have always believed one thing deeply:

Every child deserves to be seen.

We often notice a student’s grades, but not always how long they have worked for them.
We may see a mistake, but not fully understand why it happened.
We see who a child is today, but may not yet see who they are becoming.

Education begins with truly seeing the child.

At Huadong, we recognize how quickly the world is changing. That is why our vision focuses on five essential qualities for the future: character, critical thinking, well-being, social responsibility, and global perspective.

We want our students to achieve academically, but even more importantly, to become people others can trust.

We want them to think deeply, not simply search for the “right” answer.

We want them to strive for growth, while also understanding that happiness is not something that only comes after success.

We want them to have dreams of their own, while also recognizing their relationship with others and with society.

We want them to be grounded in who they are, yet open-minded enough to understand different people, cultures, and perspectives.

For this reason, I hope the future of Huadong will be about more than teaching lessons well.

We want students to learn in the classroom, think through questions, grow through collaboration, build resilience through challenges, and discover their own possibilities through repeated exploration and experience.

Above all, I hope Huadong can be a school where children feel safe and confident enough to grow.

I believe that when students feel respected, they find the courage to express themselves.
When they feel trusted, they become willing to take responsibility.
When they feel supported, they dare to face failure.
And when a child begins to believe in themselves, that is when the true power of learning begins.

Years from now, when our students look back on their time at Huadong, I hope they will remember more than the exams they took or the books they read.

I hope they will remember:

Someone here believed in me.
Someone here truly saw me.
Someone here guided me as I grew.

If we can create that kind of experience for every child, then I believe we will have achieved something truly meaningful in education.

Together, let us become trusted companions on every child’s journey of growth.
