Giving Back Through Education, Growing Together as a Family

In 1949, Mr. Chen Ting-Chung left his hometown and came to Taiwan. When he returned fifty years later, he began to reflect on how he could give back to the place where his journey had begun. He came to believe that investing in the education of the next generation was one of the most meaningful and lasting ways to serve both his hometown and society.

Around the year 2000, Mr. Chen saw that many Taiwanese business families working in mainland China faced a difficult challenge: parents often had to choose between pursuing their careers and staying close to their children, largely because of differences in educational systems and learning environments across the Taiwan Strait.

He envisioned a school where children could study near their parents while remaining connected to Taiwan’s education system—a place where families could stay together, parents could pursue their careers with greater peace of mind, and children could grow in a stable and supportive environment.

Driven by this vision, Mr. Chen worked tirelessly with like-minded partners across the Taiwan Strait. Their efforts led to the establishment of Huadong Taiwan Businessman's School in 2001.

For Mr. Chen, the purpose of the school was simple yet profound: to care for the next generation through education, strengthen families through companionship, and create a better future for every child.
